  • It is recommended to reserve a table ahead of your visit, especially if you plan to dine during peak hours.

Member Hours

Wednesday – Monday: 8:00am-10:00am (Closed Tuesdays, no member hours)

  • Exclusive member hours are offered year-round, providing a quieter and more intimate garden experience.
  • The Umami Café opens early for members at 9:00am. Members wishing to dine at the Umami Café during member hours are encouraged to make a reservation.

  • Rose Festival Fleet Week (June 6-9): During Fleet Week, all active military personnel receive free admission. Valid military ID, discharge papers, or other official military identification must be presented at the Welcome Center.
  • Veterans Day (November 11): On Veterans Day, active military personnel, military veterans, and their accompanying families are granted free admission. Families of deployed military personnel also receive free admission. Veterans Day at the Garden is generously sponsored by The Oregonian in 2024.
  • Special Tickets: For those holding promotional or special tickets that require redemption, please visit the Welcome Center upon arrival for assistance. These ticket types cannot be reserved online in advance.
  • Tripod Fee: A fee of $10.00 per person applies to the use of tripods for non-members within the garden.
  • Accessibility: The Portland Japanese Garden is committed to accessibility. A discount is available for visitors who may not be able to experience the entirety of the Garden due to accessibility limitations.
