Orlando, Florida is located in Orange County. As Tropical Storm Milton approaches, Orange County is taking precautions to ensure the safety of its residents. The Orange County Public Works Department is offering sandbags to residents to help protect their homes and property from potential flooding.
Orange County is proactively providing sandbags at six convenient locations across the county. This measure is being taken as Tropical Storm Milton, currently in the Gulf of Mexico, could bring impacts to Central Florida.
Sandbag Distribution Details
Starting Monday, October 7th, Orange County residents can access self-service sandbag stations. These locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Monday, October 7th, and Tuesday, October 8th, weather permitting. Please note that locations may close early on Tuesday depending on weather conditions.
Each household will be provided with 10 unfilled sandbags. Sand will be readily available on-site for residents to fill the bags themselves. It is important to remember to bring your own shovel to fill the sandbags efficiently.
